Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Collection Announced At State Of Play

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection was announced at Sony’s State of Play event last night.

This collection of T.U.R.T.L.E Power joy includes pretty much all the best TMNT games of yesteryear. From the 8-bit and 16-bit era to the arcade classics. Furthermore, some games not only include the Japanese counterparts, but also online play.

Honestly, as an 80s and 90s child that grew up obsessed with TMNT, I cannot explain my excitement when I saw this collection announced. I seriously don’t know how many times I finished the TMNT arcade game back in the day.

Here’s what’s included in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection:

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Arcade)
  • TMNT: Turtles in Time (Arcade)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game (NES)
  • TMNT III: The Manhattan Project (NES)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (NES)
  • TMNT IV: Turtles in Time (Super Nintendo)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (Super Nintendo)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist (Sega Mega Drive)
  • TMNT: Tournament Fighters (Sega Mega Drive)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of The Foot Clan (Game Boy)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Back From The Sewers (Game Boy)
  • TMNT III: Radical Rescue (Game Boy)

What new features are included in The Cowabunga Collection?

Each game in the collection will have an upgraded HD resolution. You can save the game at any point as well as rewind gameplay and even remap the controls. The collection will also include 11 Japanese versions of each game, other than TMNT (Arcade) and TMNT: Tournament Fighters (NES) as there were no Japanese versions.

In terms of online play, TMNT (Arcade), TMNT: Turtles in Time (Arcade), TMNT: The Hyperstone Heist (SNES) and TMNT: Tournament Fighters (SNES) will all be playable online. Other games in the collection will also have local multiplayer.
