Let's hope so!

Resident Evil 8 Reveal Date Teased, Could Be Coming Next Month

Resident Evil 8 is supposedly happening, but we’re yet to hear anything on the matter from the Powers that Be, a.k.a Capcom. That might soon be about to change though, if a new leak is to be believed.

As spotted by ComicBook, Capcom’s official RE Ambassador Program has reportedly sent out an update to its members, stating that a Resident Evil announcement is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10.

The Resident Evil Ambassador Program allows its members to playtest games early and grants access to limited events. It’s an exclusive Program, and it’s also been the source of a number of RE leaks in the past.

What a potential announcement could mean is up for debate, and even the legitimacy of the update is still being questioned. Still, if this is real, we could be looking at the official unveiling of Resident Evil 8.

Resident Evil 8 is being kept under wraps right now, but that doesn’t stop leakers from sharing everything they (supposedly) know about the upcoming Capcom game. According to rumours, the game will be the darkest in the series, which is saying something considering how gritty RE 7 got.

According to known RE leaker, @AestheticGamer on Twitter, RE 8’s official reveal is worth getting excited about, as the game will be “by far the darkest & most gruesome RE yet.”

That’s great news for horror fans, as Resident Evil 7 really pushed the boundaries with its first-person take on the genre. The game is arguably the darkest in the series, choosing to go for a more claustrophobic and personal brand of horror than the usual shoot-’em-up zombie takes the series is traditionally known for. If RE 8 is going to get even darker then count me in!
